Applying Modified/Functionalized Materials to remove Pollutants

Our work aims to create novel materials capable of efficiently eliminating environmental contaminants. We start with low-cost materials like activated biochar from agriculture by-products to create materials with a lager surface area. To further improve these materials' surface area and absorb selectivity, we also include nanomaterials as functional elements based on their absorption properties, catalysis for advanced oxidation process, photocatalysis... Our goal is to develop materials that can effectively target and remove particular contaminants by utilizing micro-nanoscale structures.
